Josh Johnson is a hard-hitting linebacker prospect from Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson High School. Johnson, 6-2 and 230 pounds, is a beast in the middle playing mike linebacker. Stephenson is 10-1 and they face Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison High School in the second round of the playoffs this weekend. On the season, Johnson has over 150 tackles.
"I think I am having a pretty good year," Johnson said. "I know I had 13 solo tackles last week [21-7 win over Roswell (Ga.)]. This week we play Harrison. We have played them the last two years so we are pretty familiar with them. (Justin) Boyle is a good back."
In regards to recruiting, Johnson has set up official visits to Miami (12-12), Florida (1-16) and South Carolina (1-23). He will also set up an official to Georgia.
"I am still waiting on Georgia to give me a date. They have a great program and a great defense. They are just getting better each year.
"Florida is a team that I always liked. The game atmosphere there is great and I like how they play defense.
"I actually grew up a Miami fan and I love how they play the game. They always have great linebackers.
"South Carolina is kind of new to me and I am still learning a lot about that program."
