Another Mid-South Lineman To Visit SC

While officially from Mississippi, Southaven is actually a suburb of Memphis, just south of Graceland, an area the Gamecocks are looking to establish themselves in for future talent searches. "I'm looking at everybody. These aren't like my top five for sure. I'm still considering all the schools that have offered me. I want to win and go to a winning program," he says ...

Memphis has been a hotbed for Arkansas, Alabama and Ole Miss for decades, but the Gamecocks are looking to crack the shell with players like this and Corey Mills.

Josh Winchell favors Arkansas slightly over South Carolina, Memphis, Michigan and Nebraska and says all have offered. He also has offers from Tennessee, Ole Miss and Mississippi St.

His first visit will be to Arkansas on 1/9 and Josh says the Hogs are his childhood fave. "I have a lot of family in Arkansas. It's a great school and I really like their coach. Coach Nutt is indescribable. He's different from anybody else. He's supposed to be at my house next week."

Josh then travels to South Carolina on 1/16 and apparently the Gamecock coaches already visited him on 12/1. "They said it's a really nice, quiet place for football and that they need linemen."

Memphis is recruiting Josh the hardest and he'll be visiting the Tigers on 1/23.

Josh is also being recruited for track and he throws a 60 shot put. "I may do both."
