Hamlin Comments On Recruiting & Shrine Bowl

This talented athlete stood out in the loss to North Carolina in Saturday's Shrine Bowl. And now he intends to turn his attention to recruiting and visits with the possibility that more schools are taking notice ...

Lamar's Mike Hamlin has been a consistent performer on the football field all year long. Hamlin has been known around the state as a hard hitter all year long. Saturday afternoon in Rock Hill he showed the North Carolina Shrine Bowl team what most Palmettoans already knew.

The 6-2. 185 pound prospect had several impressive hits during Saturday's Shrine Bowl. "It started off a little slow. Once I got the feel for everything I loosened up and played my game," said th humble Hamlin on the field afterwards.

Hamlin and his teammates worked hard on the practice field to prepare for the showdown with North Carolina. "Yeah it's been a pretty tiring weekend but I guess only athletes played in this game and I am one of them."

Just like almost every other athlete we spoke to this week, the Shrine Bowl experience is one that Hamlin will remember for a long time. "I loved every minute of is," stated Hamlin.

The question on everyone's mind continues to focus on recruiting as both Clemson and South Carolina will try to sign the talented prospect. "It's getting a little closer and hopefully I'll get looked at by more people. I guess I'll make my decision after my visits."

One team that noticed Hamlin's impressive performance Saturday afternoon was Virginia Tech and several coaches from Blacksburg met with the South Carolina star on the field after the game.
