Skat Back Wants To Be Featured

Andre Hairston

The first two players most people think of when you think about running backs from the state of Virginia are Victor Harris and Elan Lewis. While they may be regarded as the top 2, don't forget the name Andre Hairston.

Andre Hairston is a 5'9 running back, 195 pounds and runs a 4.41 40-yard dash. He also bench presses 325 and squats 465.

From Salem (Va.) High School, Hairston has caught the attention of major programs around the nation. While not having any offers as of yet, Hairston boasts an impressive collection of letters from big time colleges.

"There are so many schools, I can't name them all. I've got mail from Miami, West Virginia, Marshall, Tennessee, NC State, USC, South Carolina, Boston College, Syracuse, and Michigan."

Hairston says he has always been a Miami Hurricanes fan. "My heart is always there."

Virginia is also in the mix for Hairston's services. "I've gotten a lot of letters from them, plus I have talked to the coach that recruits this area. Virginia would be the perfect fit for me, they like to pound the ball and make you stop them, plus they are right down the road."

Hairston says he plans on visiting UVA this weekend for the Nike Camp and spring football game. GamecockInsider will have a representative at the Nike Camp covering Hairston and many other potential USC prospects.

His deciding factor he says will be "Whoever shows me the most interest. I want to be the feature back."

Hairston has said he plans to take his time and commit at the end of the year.
