Keith Fitzhugh Profile How fortunate for Keith Fitzhugh who just so happens to be looking for early playing time in a school. The 5-foot-11 and 180 pound cornerback from Lovejoy, Ga. latest offer came from the Cornhuskers.
"I'm up to seven offers right now," Fitzhugh said. "I have offers from Maryland, Nebraska, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt."
With seven offers Fitzhugh is saying that his favorite right now is a toss-up.
"My offers right now are my top seven. Every one of them has a chance to be my No. 1."
The lock-down has 4.5 speed in the 40 and at 180 pounds carries a 265 benchpress, 400 pound and a vertical jump of 37 inches. Last year he had 83 tackles, three interceptions of which he returned one for a touchdown and two fumble recoveries for touchdowns.
"My strengths playing cornerback are my man to man skills and my tackling ability. I would have to say my technique too. Playing cornerback is just something that my body does naturally now. I have been a varsity starter since my freshman year."
The combination of experience, size, speed, skill and strength may pale in comparison as to another attribute that Keith is willing to share. He is planning on enrolling in college for the spring semester to participate in spring practice.
Keith is one of the top defensive backs in the nation for the up-coming year and has been asked about for some time now. His coach has had colleges asking about him since his freshman year. What is Fitzhugh looking for in a college?
"I'm looking for great coaches. I am also looking for a good academics school. I'll then be looking at playing time. Since I am enrolling early I will definitely be looking at that."
With distance not a problem with his college decision, what are Fitzhugh's thoughts about Nebraska?
"I like Nebraska. That is what I like to call big-time football. I used to watch their team when I was younger. I'm going to give them a chance. Distance is not going to be a factor."
