Baseball America's College Top 25

DURHAM, N.C. - Stanford and Texas flip-flopped spots in Baseball America's Top 25 weekly college baseball rankings for the third consecutive week with the Cardinal breaking on top this time. The marks Stanford's third ascension to No. 1 this year, and its ninth week there overall.

Mississippi forced its way back in the Top 10 at No. 9 by sweeping Florida in Gainesville. That gave the Rebels a 17-10 conference record, which is tied with No. 12 Arkansas and No. 23 Georgia for the league's best record. The Gators dropped to No. 13.

Georgia Tech jumped four spots in the rankings by winning a game against Georgia and then sweeping Clemson. The No. 21 Yellow Jackets have won a school-record 13 games in a row in the Atlantic Coast Conference and have won 13 straight overall. The can capture the ACC title by sweeping Maryland this weekend.

Cal State Fullerton went to UC Irvine and swept the Anteaters to push back into the Top 25 for the first time since March 1. The No. 22 Titans opened the season at No. 3 but fell out the rankings after a 15-16 start.

North Carolina held Miami to five runs - three earned - in winning two out of three in Coral Gables, Fla., to reappear in the rankings at No. 25. The Hurricanes lost their first series of the season and slipped to No. 6. Lousiana State and South Carolina moved up to Nos. 4 and 5 with Southeastern Conferences series wins.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through games of May 16 and do not include ties.
