Tailback Will Attend Camp At South Carolina

Regardless of what they say this early in the process, regardless of where they may tell you they are going to sign; nothing counts until signing day. And inbetween now and then, if they are willing to camp at your place, willing to attend games at your place, willing to listen - then you have a chance ...

Myrtle Beach (S.C.) Carolina Forest running back Greg Johnson rushed for 1,024 yards and 10 touchdowns along with 17 receptions for 225 yards in only seven games in 2004. While he has not received the publicity of the other great backs in the Palmetto State, he certainly has the attention of college recruiters.

"Wake Forest, Maryland, South Carolina, Army, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Georgia, Auburn, Nebraska, Duke, and NC State have been sending me letters," said the 5-foot-10, 195-pound er. "The running back coach from Nebraska came to my school, but I didn't get to talk to him because I left early that day."

Johnson lists South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia, Maryland, Nebraska, and NC State as his top six, but the 'Huskers may have an insurmountable lead on the others.

"Nebraska is at the top of that list. If they were to offer me it would be a done deal, I have always wanted to go there."

Johnson plans to attend both the Clemson and South Carolina one-day camps.
