Ben Crookston, a 6-foot, 193-pound athlete from Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard West has put himself on the recruiting map.

Crookston made the trek west to Iowa City for the Nike Combine and ran a 4.44 40-yard dash.

Crookston started at quarterback last year for the Hilltoppers and managed 1,439 yards passing and 21 touchdowns despite battling a high ankle sprain that bothered him the entire season.

"I don't have any offers yet," said Crookston.

"I got a phone call from Penn so far and that's it but I'm getting a lot of hand-written mail.

"My favorites are San Diego, Stanford, Indiana, UCLA, South Carolina and Penn.

"I don't have any summer plans yet. I'm going to see where the interest is and I'll make plans from there."

Crookston was named all-area as a junior. He carries a 5.5 GPA in the classroom and scored a 29 on his ACT.
