2005 Prospect: Nick Starcevic
Hard nosed and equally as intelligent, Nick Starcevic (6'3, 225,4.75) is drawing interest from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, The Citadel, Navy, Air Force, Army, William and Mary and all of the Ivy League schools.
The Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC) junior currently list North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and North Carolina State as his top 5. "I would like to stay close to home, but it really doesn't matter, I just want to go where I fit in. I just want a school with a good athletic program and solid academics." Stated Starcevic
Nick has started on both sides, and his impact can be felt on both sides of the ball. As a junior, Starcevic rushed for 930 yards on 143 carries, 18 touchdowns and had 77 yards on 10 receptions. At defensive end, Starcevic registered 117 tackles, 12 sacks, and six interceptions, and he blocked three punts.
"I feel that my aggressiveness and knowledge of the game are my strengths out on the field." Replied Nick "But if I need to improve on one part of my game it would be my speed."
When asked what his summer schedule included, Nick had this to say "I will be attending camps at South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, William & Mary and Wake Forest." This past Spring Nick attended the spring games of both the Tarheels and Gamecocks.
Nick foresees a Major in Business and with his 3.54 GPA and 1210 SAT that shouldn't be a problem.
