Lemuel Jeanpierre Profile
"If schools are really interested in me, then I'm interested in them," said Orlando Timber Creek (Fl) DE Lemuel Jeanpierre (6-3, 260, 4.95). Lemuel favors South Carolina slightly over Florida, Northwestern (first offer) and Pittsburgh (offer). Connecticut, Central Florida and Florida Atlantic have also offered.
"Pitt has talked to me the most," said Jeanpierre. "But South Carolina has been showing me a lot of interest lately...and Florida too.
"I like how South Carolina shows a lot of interest in me. One of their coaches stayed the whole practice to watch me--coaches don't usually do that.
"Coach Charlie Strong (Florida def coord) came to a practice and said to my coach that he liked a lot of things. He sounded like one of my friends when I talked to him on the phone--he just talked normal to me.
"Northwestern was my first offer. Their DL coach (Eric Washington) came down to watch practice twice. He's real nice.
"The Pitt coaches tell me I have a good chance of playing early.
"I'm going to go to a school that I can contribute to. It doesn't matter what kind of defense they run--I'll learn it and get good at it.
"I'm looking for playing time and how I get along with the coaches.
"My strengths are my size, a good explosion off the ball and long arms. I'm real intense during the game; I'm in a whole other zone.
"I'm working on my feet, of course hand placement and reading whether the guard steps horizontally or vertically to the line (of scrimmage)."
Lemuel's decision on where to take his official visits should be made by midseason. He promises that all his official visits will be out-of-state because in-state schools are close enough for him to drop by for an unofficial trip.
