WR Wants To Play Two Sports

A chance to play both football and basketball, and the opportunity to garner early playing time, may be the keys to landing this talented wide receiver prospect in Columbia ...

Brandon La Fell Profile

Houston (Lamar) wide receiver Brandon LaFell is busy playing basketball these days.

"I played last night and had a few dunks, a few threes, and a lot of assists," said the 6-3, 180 pound LaFell. "I've got another game this afternoon against Houston Madison."

In between playing hoops LaFell is thinking about where he is going to play college football. He'd like to play both football and basketball, but realizes football is his ticket to a scholarship. This past season he had 46 receptions for 1,116-yards and 16 touchdowns. On defense he had 70 total tackles with eight interceptions. He returned four of those for scores. Pretty good highlights.

He has visited Arizona (9/25), Missouri (11/5), and Nebraska (11/26), and has two visits left. One of those is now set.

"I'm going to visit Oklahoma State on January 14," said LaFell. "Then I will visit either Miami or South Carolina with the last visit."

When asked for a favorite, LaFell said he doesn't have one.

"I really just going through the visits. I know as far as education you can get a good education at all of those schools. I'm really looking for somewhere that I can play early."
