Injury Update

The 38,000 plus Gamecock faithful that were gathered in the Williams-Brice Saturday for the Garnet and Black game, gave a collective groan as wide receiver Noah Whiteside fell with an injury...

As Noah was carried off the field, fans were anxious to hear the status of one of their star performers.

We are now being told that Whiteside "underwent successful surgery after the game and will have his ankle immobilized for six weeks, then will begin the rehabilitation process. The prognosis for a return to the field in the fall is good".

Noah was a true freshman with the 2003 squad. In 2004, Noah became the team's third leading receiver with a 14.5 yards per catch average and the team's leading punt returner with an 8.0 yard average.
