Moe Brown, an largely unknown wide receiver out of Anderson's Westside High, has verbally committed to the Gamecocks.
Brown is considered to have excellent hands having caught 46 passes for 521 yards his junior season. On defense he was credited with 36 tackles and 4 interceptions. To round out his athleticism he excels in the 110 meter high hurdles and has recorded a time of 13.9 seconds.
Moe was also being recruited by Tennessee, Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina and others.
Brown attended USC's mini camp earlier this summer and was offered on the spot by Spurrier, Jr. He waited until today to accept but it had been generally accepted that he was a strong lean to the Gamecocks since the camp.
Moe joins running back Clark Gaston of Gainesville, GA and linebacker Rodney Paulk of Columbia on Steve Spurrier's current list of early commitments.
