Garrett Anderson Profile
After looking like a certain Gamecock to throwing them off the radar, Dutch Fork (S.C.) offensive lineman Garrett Anderson has now come full circle by making his decision today.
"I committed to Carolina today," says the 6-foot-4, 265 pounder. "Location was a big factor, but the biggest thing is that Carolina is about to start something new. With how old I am, I could be a part of that and I think that could be a great opportunity."
Just recently, Anderson narrowed his list to Clemson and Virginia Tech, but he says that he had a few questions he simply needed answered.
"One thing they said is that they could not redshirt because they are lacking in offensive linemen. I just turned seventeen two weeks ago, and I need to redshirt so I can catch everyone else.
"I went over there, and we went over a few questions and found out what I needed to hear. They can redshirt me, but if I am needed they are going to play me."
Anderson says that while he received the right answers, he had to sit down with his family last week to make sure that he was picking the right school.
"We went over the pros and cons of each of the three schools. We came to the fact that Carolina would be the best one, but I just wanted to sit on it and think about it for a few days. It just came up yesterday that I thought Carolina would be the place to go, I sent Coach Stockstill a text message asking if I could come by today and I committed."
