Cortez Myles: Down To Four

Madison Central (Madison, MS) defensive lineman Cortez Myles is considered by many to be among the top defensive ends in the southeast. Myles is rated a 3-star prospect by, and despite suffering an injury plagued junior season, he has been tendered offers by several of the top football programs in the south.

"Auburn, South Carolina, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Clemson, Florida, and Alabama have all offered me."

Myles, who claimed Auburn as his favorite earlier this summer, has decided to slow the recruiting process down a little bit, and he currently holds four teams at the top of his list.

"South Carolina, Auburn, LSU, and Florida are my favorites. They all stand out to me right now."

The 6'3, 255 pound lineman was asked to describe what he liked about each of his four favorite schools.

South Carolina -"Coach Spurrier is a legend there."

Auburn -"Coach Tuberville is a good coach."

LSU - "They have a good football team."

Florida - "Everything's good down there."

Myles, who recorded 40 tackles, 3 sacks, and 12 quarterback hurries last season, is planning on taking two unofficial visits in the near future, but he doesn't have any dates set yet.

"I'm going to South Carolina and I think Florida, but I don't know when."

Myles, who runs the forty yard dash in 4.8 seconds, knows a few areas that he would like to improve his game in.

"My speed is one thing I'd like to improve on. I want to get stronger and read the offense better."

The talented lineman has not set a timeframe for his decision, but he does have one goal in mind for his senior season.

"I just want to be a leader."
