One on One With Gurminder Thind

Redshirt sophomore Gurminder Thind is expected to play a huge role in the success of the 2006 Gamecock offensive line. The talented, young lineman took the time to share his thoughts on a variety of different topics with GamecockAnthem during the South Carolina Media Day.

Question: What are your expectations for yourself this coming season?

Answer: "I can only do my best. As long as I go out there and give 100% every single play and in practice, then that's the best I can do. I've been working real hard over the summer. I've been doing a lot of stuff on my own. Even as a team, we've been working real hard, so hopefully that hard work will pay off, which I'm sure it will."

Question: How did the offensive line perform in the off-season workouts?

Answer: "As an offensive line, we've been strong as a unit. We all showed up on time for our workouts, and we've really just worked real hard. We give 110% in every single aspect, whether it's weight lifting or running. The fact that we sweat and basically bleed together, that's going to make us a better offensive line when the season comes around."

Question: What are your impressions of the new, freshman offensive linemen?

Answer: "Actually, I've been really impressed with the incoming freshmen. They all have great attitudes, they work real hard, and they're buying into the system. That's exactly what we need to be a successful team."

Question: How do you expect the offense, as a whole, to perform this season?

Answer: "Honestly, I expect us to be better than last season, but we can only do that if we come together as a team. The way things are looking, everybody is really starting to trust the system. So I think overall we should be a good offense."
