Casper Brinkley: "I Want To Be The Best"
Question: How did the summer workouts go for you once you arrived on campus?
Answer: I did great. I came in and beasted like a man. I can run all day, so it really wasn't nothing.
Question: What are your expectations for yourself heading into this season?
Answer: Heading into the season, my expectations are that I want to get my name nationally known and around the SEC. I want to be the best there is and the best there was. I just want to help my team win. I want this program to become one of the best in the SEC. We've got the talent and the ability, we've just got to be consistent in everything we do for all four quarters.
Question: Being a new player, how comfortable are you with the new defensive scheme right now?
Answer: I'm feeling pretty comfortable, because I feel like I've learned it pretty good. Once you learn it, it's a cake walk, and you've just got to go out there and do it and perform.
Question: What are you expecting from your brother Jasper this year?
Answer: I'm expecting the same thing. He's the middle linebacker, so he's got to be the most vocal on defense. He's like the quarterback, but I just expect big things from him.
Question: What are your thoughts on Defensive Line Coach, Brad Lawing?
Answer: I think Coach Lawing is a great coach. He's already taught me stuff where I was like "I never knew I could do this," and it works, so I think it's great working with him.
Question: What's it like having the Georgia Military connection here with you, Jasper, Brandon Isaac, and Joel Reaves all at South Carolina?
Answer: It's great. It's like family with all of us meeting up again. Being on the same team, there's nothing better than that.
