Blake Mitchell: FAU Post Game
Question: Can you talk about the play where you fumbled in the first half?
Answer: I just came out and made a bad decision. Once I got out there and started playing a little more, I got a little more comfortable and played decently the rest of the time I was in there.
Question: How did it feel to get back out there?
Answer: It felt good to be back out there. I missed not being out there, and I'm going to continue to work as hard as I can to try and stay out there on the field.
Question: What do you feel you need to do to get more playing time from this point on?
Answer: I'm just going to go out and practice as hard as I can. When I get my chances out on the field, I've got to make the best of them.
Question: Coach Spurrier has already named Syvelle Newton the starter for the Auburn game. What do you feel you need to do to earn the starting job back?
Answer: Just work hard. I'm going to work as hard as I can. I know he (Coach Spurrier) is going to put me back out there, and when he puts me out there, I've got to make the best of it and do something good.
Question: Even though you're not starting, how do you prepare mentally?
Answer: You're one play away from being in there. I'm just going to prepare as hard as I can during practice this week and practice as if I was the starter. I'll be ready when my number's called.
Question: As a team, did you guys just need a blowout win like this?
Answer: Yeah, we needed a good win. We kind of put some points on the board, and we're trying to get this offense rolling, but it wasn't near as good as we could be. I think it's a little bit of a start.
Question: Does the Auburn game coming up hold any extra significance for you since you didn't get to play in it last year?
Answer: I definitely want to play in it and get my shot. Hopefully I'll do well when my number's called.
