Wynn Enjoys South Carolina Visit

Georgia Military 4-star defensive end Jarius Wynn made an official visit to South Carolina over the weekend. The Gamecocks have long been listed as one of Wynn's top schools, but they are competing against other SEC powerhouses such as Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn for the premier defensive lineman's services. Read inside to find out where the Gamecocks stand after his weekend visit.

The 6'4, 270 pound Wynn said that he had a good time on his visit to South Carolina, and he enjoyed catching up with a couple of his old Georgia Military teammates that now play for the Gamecocks.

"It went good. It was good seeing my old teammates Jasper and Casper Brinkley. I got to hang out with the players and talk to the coaches. It went real good."

According to Wynn, one of the highlights of his trip was talking football with several of the Carolina coaches, including Head Coach Steve Spurrier.

"I talked to Coach Spurrier. We just sat there and talked about football. That was good. I talked with the defensive coaches for a while too. They told me if I work hard, I could come in and start."

While Wynn fell short of calling the trip a perfect ten, he did rate his visit highly.

"It was good. It was about an 8 (out of 10.)"

Wynn stated that he does not currently have a timeframe to make a decision, but he knows what he is looking for in a school.

"Playing time, academics, and how the coaches are. Those are all important."

The standout defensive lineman maintains that he has no favorites. His next stop will be in Athens, GA next weekend to see what the Bulldogs have to offer. He is still considering visits to Florida and Auburn next month.

Wynn will graduate in December and enroll at his school of choice in January, and he will have three years to play two after spending his first two seasons at junior college.
