Meredith Named SEC O-Lineman of Week
Meredith, a 6'4, 290 pound sophomore from Simpsonville, SC, helped hold Gaines Adams and the athletic Clemson defensive front without a sack on Saturday. The Tigers ranked second in the ACC with 31 sacks on the season coming into the weekend, but the Gamecocks have now gone 14 consecutive quarters without giving up a sack.
Behind Meredith's steady play at left tackle, the Gamecocks were able to rack up an impressive 492 yards of total offense against the Tigers, who came into the game allowing only 250 yards per contest.
Meredith joins place kicker Ryan Succop, wide receiver Sidney Rice, defensive end Casper Brinkley, and quarterback Blake Mitchell as Gamecock players to receive SEC weekly honors this season.
