Williams Enjoys USC Visit, Sets Timeframe
Williams has flown beneath the proverbial recruiting radar for much of his high school career, but after a stellar senior season, schools are beginning to take notice this year. He now claims offers from major programs like South Carolina, Louisville, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest, but the Gamecocks had their opportunity to roll out the red carpet for him this weekend.
Williams, who measures in at a solid 6'4 and 220 pounds, said that he enjoyed his visit and felt very comfortable while at USC.
"It was really good. It was a lot of fun," said Williams. "I liked how comfortable they made me feel, and it was a big city, but you couldn't even tell."
The versatile tight end had the opportunity to sit down with a couple of the Gamecock coaches while on campus.
"I sat down with Coach Spurrier and the tight end's coach, Coach Chatham. We talked about how they use the tight end, and what their plans are for the future and stuff like that."
Williams stated that he enjoyed hanging out with his fellow prospects over the weekend, and they were all enthusiastic about the possibility of playing at USC.
"Yeah, I talked with all the guys. Everybody was real fired up about South Carolina. Everybody was real excited."
Williams, who was hosted by Garrett Anderson over the weekend, said that he fell short of committing to USC on his visit, but he knows when he will be ready to make his final decision.
"I like South Carolina a lot, but I'm going to take my visit to Louisville, and after that I'll make my decision. It'll come sometime soon after that."
Williams said he is looking for one main factor in choosing which college he will attend.
"Just wherever I feel most at home."
