Dunlap Hitting The Home Stretch

The 6'6, 260 pound Dunlap, who runs the forty yard dash in 4.7 seconds, is currently gearing up to visit the Florida Gators this weekend, and he will be looking for one important factor during his time in Gainesville.

"Everything's going pretty good. I'm going to Florida this weekend," said Dunlap. "I just want to see if I feel at home there."

Dunlap recently narrowed his choices down to South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee, but he surprisingly stated that he currently holds no favorites. When asked to comment on those three schools, he shared what he likes about each of the SEC Eastern Division rivals.

South Carolina - "I like Coach Spurrier and that they are an up-and-coming program… Coach Lawing told me that I'm going to have a chance to play early there."

Florida - "The speed of the defense. They're already a developed program, and they still can get better. They also have a good coaching staff."

Tennessee - "I like the family atmosphere and their football atmosphere. They‘re good overall."

Dunlap has already made his official visit to South Carolina, but he missed his scheduled trip to Tennessee last weekend. The 5-star rated prospect said that he may reschedule his visit to Knoxville if he has time.

The Palmetto State standout took part in the annual Offense-Defense All American game in Fort Lauderdale, FL a couple of weeks ago, and according to Dunlap, he enjoyed meeting his fellow prospects and getting to see the South Carolina talent perform well at the event.

"It was real fun getting to know all the players and stuff. It was fun to see all the talent that we have over the state."

When asked about a timeframe for his decision, Dunlap replied that he will make a commitment sometime after his visit to Florida, but he could possibly wait as late as Signing Day to make his college choice known.

"I'll make it sometime after the visit. It just depends on how the visit goes. It could come on Signing Day."

Lastly, Dunlap stated which factors he will be looking for when making his final decision.

"Playing time and wherever I feel at home."
