Young Takes on New Role

Five star OL prospect Eric Young is relatively new to the game of football. The dominating offensive lineman from Union, South Carolina is now learning to like his new role.

The South Carolina Gamecocks are in pretty good position with some of the top prospects from the Palmetto State. Prospects like running back Demetris Summers and quarterback Syvelle Newton are leaning to USC. Eric Young is another five star prospect that loves the Gamecocks. Do they still lead for the future offensive guard?

"Well, I was leaning there but now I am a little more open," said Young. "Georgia is kind of creeping in the picture and I also like Virginia, Tennessee, Clemson and North Carolina."

Young has only played the game of football for two years. As he enters his third season on the gridiron, he all of a sudden has to take on the leadership role for Union High School and this is a role that took some getting used to.

"Being a senior is harder than I thought. A lot of guys are looking up to me and looking to me for answers. It took a while for me to get comfortable with that situation but I kind of like it now.

"I feel great... a lot stronger. I feel like a new person."

Young is scheduled to take an unofficial visit to Tennessee next weekend for Volunteers game against MTSU. This weekend, he may go to Columbia to watch their game against New Mexico State.
