Auguste Headed To Prep School

South Carolina cornerback signee Akeem Auguste received some bad news about his academic fate on Monday morning. After re-taking the ACT last Thursday, Auguste learned that he did not make the necessary score in order to enroll at USC this fall. Read inside for more.

The 5'11", 175 pound Auguste, who was rated a 4-star prospect by Scout.com in the 2007 recruiting class, will now enroll in prep school this fall and attempt to improve his ACT score in time to arrive at South Carolina next semester.

"I'm going to prep school at Fork Union this fall," said Auguste. "If everything works out, I'll be to South Carolina in January. That's the plan."

Auguste said he will be joined by two fellow USC signees at Fork Union in running back Eric Baker and safety Antonio Allen.

Auguste, who remains firm in his pledge to South Carolina, was considered one of the top cornerback prospects in the southeast this past recruiting year, and he chose the Gamecocks over offers from Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, West Virginia and others.
