One-on-one with Jaron Brown
GamecockAnthem.com caught up with Cheraw (SC) 3-star wide receiver Jaron Brown following Wednesday afternoon's Shrine Bowl workout, and he shared his thoughts on a variety of topics:
Question: Are you enjoying the Shrine Bowl experience this week?
Answer: "Yeah, it's fun. I've had a lot of fun with the other players; we're having a blast out here. It's beautiful weather, it definitely doesn't feel like December out here."
Question: What's it like going up against all of the tough competition out here?
Answer: "You've got to step up the intensity when you come out here. You're playing against some of the best players in South Carolina so you've definitely got to play well."
Question: You've got a lot of South Carolina and Clemson commitments around you this week. Are they working you to come to their respective schools?
Answer: "Yeah, you know the guys are telling to me to come to USC or to come to Clemson all the time."
Question: So which guy for Carolina and which guy for Clemson would you say is working you the most?
Answer: "Daquan Bowers is telling me to go to Clemson, and Reid McCollum, the quarterback, is telling me to go to South Carolina a lot."
Question: There's been some conflicting information out there about what school you're leaning to right now. Do you have a favorite?
Answer: "I don't have a lean, but I plan on making my commitment in mid-January."
Question: What's going to be the one thing that has to stand out about a school for that coaching staff to get your signature?
Answer: "How they use their receivers and pretty much the coaching staff."
Question: So you definitely want to play on the offensive side of the ball?
Answer: "Yes, sir."
