Sorenson 5th Overall Pick In Canadian Draft

University of South Carolina offensive tackle Justin Sorensen was selected by his hometown team the BC Lions with the fifth pick in the first round of the Canadian Football League Draft today.

Sorensen, a 6-7, 327-pounder from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, has one year of eligibility remaining at the University of South Carolina. The two-year letterwinner started all 12 games at right tackle during the 2007 season and has made 18 consecutive starts at the position.

If he chooses to play his senior season at USC, he is expected to be the starting right tackle when USC opens it 2008 season against NC State this fall.
