Gamecocks Scheduled For 2 More Weeks Of TV

South Carolina will set a single "regular" season record for playing on TV this year (2002). This week's game in Gainesville will be telecast by ESPN at 6:00 p.m. ET. And the game at Clemson will be picked up for another ESPN broadcast at 7:45 ET. The two games will mark the ninth and tenth TV games this season for the Gamecocks, setting a regular season record. In 2000 and 2001 ...

.... the Gamecocks played fewer regular season games on TV, but in 2000 the tenth "TV" game of the season was played on New Year's Day in Tampa. (Technically 2001 but played as part of the 2000 season.)

With Monday's announcement that ESPN has picked up the Clemson game, another record of sorts was set. All six of USC's road games this season will have been played at night. Yet none of SC's televised home games were allowed to be played at night this season?

South Carolina fans will finally get their turn with the ESPN series, "SEC: The Season." Unfortunately the segment was filmed last week as the Gamecocks were preparing for, and eventually losing to, Arkansas in their worst performance of the season. The piece will air at 11 p.m. on Nov. 21.
