Jeffery showcases athleticism in Charlotte
Full transcript of video interview
GamecockAnthem: What were some of your times out here — forty times, the shuffle?
Damario Jeffery: I had some average times that weren't as good as I wanted (them) to be. But I ran a 4.6 (second) forty, a 37" vertical, a 7.1 "L drill", and a 9'9" broad jump.
GA: Talk about your recruiting right now. What's going on with you right now; have you had coaches coming by your school recently?
DJ: I had a lot of coaches come by my school recently. NC State came by and offered me. Kentucky came by and offered. Michigan came by and offered. Clemson came around. I think that will be all.
GA: Who's standing out for you right now?
DJ: I don't have a standout; I haven't looked into enough colleges to say that.
GA: Do you have any future visits set up yet?
DJ: I'm going to probably visit every school that has offered me. That's all I can say.
GA: How many offers are you up to?
DJ: Around 25.
GA: You did take that trip to Alabama and seemed to like it, what did you think about that trip?
DJ: Oh, Alabama is a great place to be. I love the environment, love the academic center. Plus, they're one of the SEC's original powerhouses and (with) Nick Saban for a head coach and he coaches the DB's, what more could I like about that?
GA: Alright, you were one time committed to Clemson. Are you still interested in them? I know you kind of backed off. Is the interest gone?
DJ: I really backed off every school because I want to give every school a fair chance. And I'm going to look at every school that has offered me and see which one is the best for me.
GA: Alright, with the hometown South Carolina Gamecocks, what do you think about your recruiter David Reaves?
DJ: He's a great recruiter, because me, personally, when South Carolina offered me I was just like, ‘well that's just an offer,' because I had it in my head I wasn't going there. But David Reaves has told me some good things; (I've) seen some good things, and he's kept South Carolina in the race.
GA: You've talked (before) about playing in the SEC, does that still stand for you?
DJ: I want to play wherever I get in and where I fit in, that's how I see it.
GA: Alright, decision — signing day? Senior year? When do you plan on making that decision?
DJ: As soon as I take all my visits.
