Wes Mitchell has worked for GamecockAnthem.com part-time since July 2007 and during that time has covered South Carolina recruiting, baseball games and football practices among other things. Wes recently graduated from the University of South Carolina's School of Journalism. He majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Business Administration.
With his promotion to full-time status, Wes will expand his duties in recruiting coverage, as well as general reporting duties. Wes will also be helping market GamecockAnthem.com and our expanding efforts to bring you the best in Gamecock coverage.
Wes grew up in the small town of Hickory Grove, SC and graduated from York Comprehensive High School in 2004. His parents are Danny and Beverly Mitchell and he has one brother, Will. Wes grew up playing football, baseball and basketball, and played high school baseball at York for five years.
We are excited and pleased to be able to bring on one of the bright emerging stars in this business, who reflects positively on the USC School of Journalism with his professional approach to this business.
