Underrated RB Commits To The Gamecocks

He put up 1,535 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. He projects as a cornerback in college because of his size and speed but the Gamecocks are going to give him his shot at runningback first. And now he says he wants to play for USC and is committed ...

South Carolina got a verbal commitment today from running back Cory Boyd. Boyd is a 6-2 and 200 pound running back Orange, New Jersey.

"I committed today to South Carolina," said Boyd. "I have family about an hour away and I just figured it is the best place for me. They wanted me as a back while others schools wanted me as a safety. Plus, they love to run the football. I have kind of known for a while."

Boyd committed to South Carolina over Boston College, Wisconsin, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
