For a good part of the season, Apopka, Fla. standout running back Alan Abrams was a running back prospect destined for the Miami Hurricanes. However, it appears things have started to change. "I've been talking with Purdue, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, South Carolina, and South Florida lately," Abrams said. "I actually go on a visit to South Carolina this weekend (January 10) and then I go to Ole Miss after that. Those are the ones that seem the most interested in me right now."
And there is little doubt that the Gamecocks coaches would love to have him!
Abrams received an in-home visit from Miami running backs coach Don Soldinger in December, right before the Christmas break. "He basically talked about coming in and playing," he said. "He didn't offer me then and I kind of figured they weren't going to. They wanted me to come in for a visit later this month but I decided that I'm not even going to take it."
Miami's commitment by Tyrone Moss may have had something to do with that.
Abrams, who had a successful visit to Purdue earlier, said he'll take a few more trips before making a final decision. "I'm not sure which one it would be," he said when asked about a favorite. "I'll take these other (trips) and then know."
The South Carolina coaches will be able to devote their full attention to Abrams this weekend. And there is not another school on Abrams' list at the moment that has the facilities, the fan support and the legendary head coach that USC will offer.
If you have yet to view the incredible video of Abrams ... then you are in for a treat. Abrams has all the tools. Size, speed, strength and toughness.
