Linebacker/Safety Favors The Gamecocks

An impressive defender from Maryland's Bishop McNamara, speaks with The Insiders and lists the teams most interested in him as well as his current favorites. Right now he really likes the Gamecocks and Penn State and is hearing from Virginia, Virginia Tech and Tennessee among others ...

Harold Stanback has already visited a couple of programs. "My next one is supposed to be to Connecticut in 2 weeks (January 24)," Harold said last Thursday when asked about his official visit schedule. "The one after that will probably be South Carolina. I don't know exactly when that'll be yet. (Probably the 31st.)"

Harold is also interested is Virginia, Virginia Tech, Marshall, Penn State and Tennessee.

"UConn has offered. Louisville offered me a while ago, in the summertime. I'm interested in them, but not really as much as I am in the other schools."

He favors South Carolina slightly, followed by UConn. Penn State, Marshall and Virginia round out his top 5.

Stanback is being recruited to play on the defensive side of the ball.

"It depends on how much weight I gain over the summer as to whether I'll play linebacker or d-end."

Has Penn State kept in touch?

"I heard from them 2 days ago, it was the defensive coordinator. He said he liked my tape."

Did he talk about an official visit or a scholarship offer?

"They said they would talk more about that next week, about setting up a visit. I hear from them like twice a month."
