USC commits to play in O-D All-American Bowl
Brandon Golson, a linebacker prospect who committed to the Gamecocks back in June, compiled 18 sacks in just 6 games for Calhoun County as a junior. Tramell Williams is a big time offensive line prospect with a great frame (6ft3, 285 lbs).
Beaufort High School standout linebacker Justin Parker has also accepted an invitation to the bowl. Parker, who is considered by many to be one of the top middle linebacker prospects in the country, is being recruited heavily by the Gamecocks. Parker lists his top five choices as Clemson, South Carolina, NC State, Tennessee, and Wake Forest.
Gamecock players are no stranger to the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. Currently there are six players who competed in the national all-star game on the Gamecocks' roster, including Stephen Garcia, Brian Maddox, Chris Culliver, Cliff Matthews, Travian Robertson, and Quintin Richardson.
The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl will take place on January 2, 2010 in Myrtle Beach, SC at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. The game will match the top players from the West against against the top players in the East. The game is the only national all-star game in the Carolina's and will be broadcast live on Fox College Sports on January 2 at 5 pm.
