Peeking Ahead Into The 2003 Depth Chart

With the newest Gamecocks now signed, there is still the "sealed & delivered" part to contemplate. But we are beginning to see a possible 2003 depth chart emerge that has potential in all the right places for this coming season ...

Of course there are going to be changes made between now and summer practice when many of these new freshmen first report. But after speaking with one of the coaches yesterday after the faxes had come in, and concentrating more on returning players and where they might be moved, (or not moved), considering the newest class ... this is the way the depth chart will probably look heading into spring ball. ...

Note: Spring Ball may cause us to see one or two of the cornerbacks or safeties used as wide receivers but we expect them to see time in the secondary as well - and find permanent homes where we have them listed by summer.

Stellfox from Chapin is a preferred walkon with a big (huge) leg.
Marcus Lawrence could end up at DE.
WR Kris Clark will go on scholarship in August. Brett Weyman may walkon at QB.
**Chris White - still a question mark for medical reasons.
* DE Scott, Person, DB Monroe, QB Swygert need to contribute right away in some fashion or ...
Randy Jackson will split time between DE and DT in the four man front. Moe will also split time depending upon the situation. Schweitzer is headed to either DE or DT but he'll be a DE for starters.
