"It was just another practice today, nothing exciting happened too much," said head coach Steve Spurrier following the workout. "Nobody got hurt or anything."
The team did a little extra conditioning work following the two-hour practice on Tuesday. "The defense always does up-downs for their mistakes in the scrimmages," said the Head Ball Coach. "A lot of times (the offense) has failed to do that. So we tried to double-up with all of our mental errors, assignment busts and things like that, so we had a little conditioning for the offensive guys."
Coach Spurrier continues to try to get his stable of quarterbacks ready to play this fall. Connor Shaw and Andrew Clifford saw "a little bit more than normal" activity in Tuesday's practice. Zac Brindise had a "decent" scrimmage on Saturday, according to Coach Spurrier, but "struggled a little bit out here today."
The Gamecocks will return to the practice fields on Thursday at 4 p.m.
South Carolina will host its annual Pro Timing Day on Wednesday morning. Seven players, including Garrett Anderson, Moe Brown, Clifton Geathers, Lemuel Jeanpierre, Eric Norwood, Gerrod Sinclair and Darian Stewart will showcase their talents for the NFL scouts.
The event begins in the weightroom at 10 a.m. and will continue on the Williams-Brice Stadium field at around 11 a.m.
