Odom Focusing On Signing Special Big Man

The Gamecocks are expecting a visit from one of the better big men in the country this weekend for the Georgia game and here's the scoop ...

Gamecocks Get First Shot

Dave Odom has recruited so many Lithuanian players in his day you'd think he has dual citizenship.

On Saturday, he'll have another Lithuanian on campus. The South Carolina Gamecocks play host to Roanoke Catholic big man Paulius Joneliunas.

The official visit is Joneliunas' second. Wall said that Marquette and Utah could possibly receive official trips after South Carolina. He visited Southern Methodist last fall.

The Gamecocks have long been acknowledged as the team to beat for his services. "You know, I don't know [about who leads]," Wall said. "He's a very quiet kid. They've certainly been in there a long time."

Joneliunas averaged 13.5 points and 10 rebounds this past season. "I still think he'll be a better player next year and the following year that what he's played this season. He's going to be a very good college player."
