The closest thing that Braxton Ogbueze has made in his college choice this summer, is his decision to transfer to United Faith (N.C.), where he will face stiffer competition and be better prepared for college.

As far as his actual college choice, the 2012 point guard is picking up new schools trying to get in on his recruitment.

"It's picked up a lot," the 5-foot-11 guard said of the recruiting process.

Florida, Tennessee, Miami and Providence all jumped in showing more interest this summer alone, he said.

South Carolina, Wake Forest, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Virginia and Charlotte were the schools he claimed offers from.

"Hopefully, I get to my senior year before I get to my decision," he said.

Ogbueze has no timetable for his decision and doesn't have a set plan yet as to when he'll cut a list.

"It's up in the air," the Charlotte, N.C. native said. "I don't have a set date."

As far as South Carolina goes, things have started to pick up some.

"(The coaches) have shown a lot of interest," he said. "They've talked about getting me down to Columbia."

Ogbueze admitted in an earlier interview at the Prep All-Stars tournament in July that a relationship had grown stronger with the coaching staff, whose been recruiting him since early on in his freshman year.
