Change Of Plans

Former Freedom star athlete T.J. Mutcherson was attending classes at HCC with hopes of attending USF this January, but now there's been a change of plans for the former two-way athlete. Read on for all the details

There's been a change of plans for T.J. Mutcherson, the former Freedom star athlete that was attending classes at Hillsborough Community College with hopes of attending USF this January.

"Things went real well, I got a B and two C's," said Mutcherson.

Mutcherson starred at Freedom on both sides of the ball, but just fell shy of qualifying in time for the 2010 class and went to HCC this fall to complete his requirements. T.J. had plans of being a Bull this spring as long as he maintained a certain level, and attended many USF games and practices this summer/fall.

"I made grades, but with USF, I needed to make B's or higher," said T.J. "So I won't be enrolling there this spring. "I spoke to the coaches earlier and they said they still may try to bring me in this spring or summer. I'm still supposed to go over there next week to meet with them, and see all the details."

"I don't feel bad about USF," said T.J. "They gave me the opportunity to do what I had to do "I made the grades, but just missed where they wanted me to be at."

Enrolling at USF this spring definitely isn't in the cards and even though they aren't completely out of the picture, there are now other schools coming into the picture.

"Right now I'm probably going to look at some other schools also," said T.J. "I've been talking to Iowa State lately, and they're in the mix right now. I'll know more over the next few weeks"
