This past weekend, Skip Holtz and the Bulls hosted a big recruiting weekend with 21 prospects checking out what USF had to offer. One of those players is Rashawn Scott, the All-state receiver/athlete from Melbourne Central Catholic. Scott is a 6-foot-2, 198 pound senior that excelled on both sides of the ball while helping lead MCC to a perfect 10-0 regular season record.
"It was pretty nice, said Scott. "I liked it a lot."
Scott arrived on Friday, but had to leave early for a basketball game Saturday night.
"I left Saturday morning," said Scott. "It was a big game for our team."
Even though his trip was cut short, Scott who made the trip with his parents did a lot while in Tampa.
"I got to see the campus, take a look at the classrooms, and dorms, it was good,' said Scott. "We went on a boat for dinner, and got to hang out with the players the rest of the night. Got to see the facilities, it was nice, and I liked it a lot. My parents came over with me and they liked it a lot they liked the staff everything.
Scott said of everything that he did, one thing stood out to him.
"My favorite part was just hanging with all the players," said Scott "I felt like I really connected with them very easily, and got to bond with Stephen Bravo-Brown and Alex Mut. Talked with B.J. Daniels for a little bit, and we talked about being close to home, and talked a little about the offense and how I would fit in."
Rashawn also got to meet with all the coaching staff, and liked the comfort level he felt.
"Meeting all the staff was pretty good, I felt very comfortable," said Scott. "I like Coach McGeoghan and Coach Vaas a lot; they seem like pretty good coaches."
The MCC standout also got to spend time with Coach Holtz and like the Bulls head man.
"I think coach Holtz is a pretty good guy and I like him," said Scott. "He's one of the best Head coaches I have met."
Rashawn has already been to Tampa previously, but this time he was able spent with the players
"I didn't really learn anything new, I already knew everything," said Rashawn. "I just really got to bond with the players, and that's what I got out of the weekend the most."
Did getting to spend time with the players help the Bulls chances?
"Yes sir, it did," said Scott. "They made me feel more comfortable with them."
Rashawn came in already high on USF, but did the weekend affect how he feels about USF
"I still feel the same way about USF, I like them a lot," said Scott. "Right now it's just West Virginia and USF, in no order."
"I like USF," said Scott. "I like everything about them."Click here for more info or to share your thoughts with other USF insiders -- get the inside scoop!
