Team Tampa held another practice this past weekend for the upcoming 7on 7 tourney and USFNation.com was there with some practice notes and video.
The offense got a boost with the addition of Land o Lakes TE Kent Taylor and QB Josh Grady who was there to give some advice.
At Sunday's practice King QB Greg Windham was the only passer there and he looked much better during his second practice this week then the previous weekend. This was in part to the addition of Kent Taylor, Nelson Agholor and having the team's 2010 QB Josh Grady there to give him some pointers. Windham also participated in the Orlando combine was named one of the top QBs.
Agholor missed last week's practice and looked a bit rusty at first, but showed why he's an elite athlete while working at receiver on offense. He showed the speed and ball skills that make him a top prospect.
Land O Lakes TE Kent Taylor was simply a beast out there and his size and speed proved tough for anyone to cover him. After watching him all day, there's no questioning why he's blowing up on the recruiting scene. There were some marquee match-ups with Taylor versus Dante Fowler and Tyriq McCord that were fun to watch.
Tyriq wasn't at last week's practice either, but looked great out there from a physical standpoint to how he worked in pass coverage. Tyriq and Dante make up a great looking pair of bookend D-ends that are lining up at LB for the tourney. DaQuall Randall also had some good moments at LB, but gave up to much size to cover Kent Taylor.
Armwood defensive backs Jarvis McCall and Leon McQuay continued to show great pass defense and with their size and skills and once again didn't give up many passes.
2013 CB Vernon Hargreaves continued to show that he'll be a name to remember in 2012. He can cover and plays a tough, aggressive style and isn't afraid to mix it up.
Another class of 2013 prospect Richard Benjamin, a versatile athlete that plays a little of everything, WR/DB/ KR/PR, and is another one to watch. He's been lined up at DB and WR during practices and was named one of the top WRs at the MVP combine on Saturday.
Matt Jones was at practice, but he didn't have all his gear (Coach had his braces and wraps) so he was just a bystander.
