"I committed to USF last night," said Brown. "It was a great opportunity to be part of the Bulls family, so I jumped on it."
Last fall, the junior racked up 50 tackles and four sacks for Archbishop Shaw, and had plenty of interest before deciding to commit to USF.
"I had interest from Southern Miss, Duke, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Arkansas, and North Carolina State," said Brown. "I really like USF and committed early so I could focus on my schoolwork and focus on becoming a better player."
"I called Coach Hargreaves and told him I was committing and then called Coach Holtz," said Brown. "They said they were real excited and couldn't wait for me to get down there. I'm excited too."
Brown attended USF's Junior Day over the weekend and that sealed the deal for the big D-end.
"The visit was great. They have great facilities, and they're full of great people and I really like the coaching staff," said Brown. "I've been talking to coach H (Vernon Hargreaves) and Coach Patrick, they both real good men and great coaches," said Brown. "Coach Holtz is great too. He's real energetic and "I loved all the coaching staff at USF, they felt like family."
"I loved the whole atmosphere at USF," said Brown. "They're real intense and everybody is like one big family."
Brown is an outstanding student, maintains a 3.0 GPA and scored a 20 on the ACT and is already qualified.
