Blake Nash a 6-foot, 185 pound point guard from Williston State College in North Dakota took an official visit to USF this weekend and has decided to play for Stan Heath and the Bulls.

"Yes my understanding is committed to USF. I spoke to him before he got on the plane and he said he gave them a verbal," said his head coach Hunter Berg. "His visit went real well, he thought it was a great school, and they obliviously play in a great conference and thought they were a great fit for him."

The 6-foot, 185 pound guard had several offers and was being recruited by many schools before narrowing his choices to USF, Texas A&M and Oklahoma before choosing USF.

"He was getting recruiting by a lot of schools and South Florida committed to him early," said Berg. "He was considering schools like Texas A&M and Oklahoma, and through the recruiting process different schools were also involved like Georgetown, Creighton, West Rutgers, and Nebraska were talking to him. I guess it went real well down at South Florida this weekend."

Nash had an impressive junior season averaging 22ppg, 5 assists, 6.5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game, while shooting 42% from 3-point range. Nash was named to the JUCO all-American second team, and was the only freshman member. Nash also earned All-Conference honors and also was selected as the Conference's Most Valuable Player as well.

"Player wise he's quick, he's strong and he's a playmaker," said Berg. "He needed him to score and obviously his numbers say that he can. He's an excellent scorer and shoots the ball really well and has a great pull-up game. He can slash and put it on the floor all the way to the rim. I think his game will develop into more of a true point guard and he can distribute the ball and can really pass the ball."

Once he arrives on campus Nash will have 3 years to play.
