Big news for Bulls fans, Chris Dunkley, the former 5-star recruit and UF wide receiver has made it official that he's transferred to USF.
‘Yes sir I'm at USF now," said Dunkley via text message Sunday night. Dunkley also updated his Facebook page to studies at University of South Florida.
The 5-foot-11, 174-pound Dunkley, who was the No. 8 rated receiver by Scout in 2009 went to Florida and redshirted last season, but was looking to transfer saying that he was looking for "a fresh start somewhere else."
USFNation.com was the first to tell you that Dunkley visited USF in April and now are pleased to officially say that he's a Bull! Dunkley is excited about his fresh start with USF.
"It's Showtime!" said Dunkley.
Dunkley played through his junior season at Royal Palm Beach High before transferring to Pahokee as a senior. While at Royal Palm, he became one of the state's most explosive receivers recording over 600 yards and 6 scores as a sophomore, then finished his junior season with 40 catches for 595 yards and six touchdowns with 2 rushing scores, earning All-County Offensive Player of the year, class 6A All-State second team, and Area Offensive Player of the Year . As a senior for the Blue Devils he was hampered by a hamstring injury, but still caught 34 passes for 721 yards and four touchdowns.
Due to NCAA rules, Dunkley will have to sit out the 2011 season, giving him three years of eligibility at South Florida, starting in 2012.
