One of the top corner prospects in the south east is Lovejoy's Rico McWilliams. The 6-foot, 180 pound Georgia prospect has also been one of the hottest as he's seen his offer list go from 1 to 14 since the beginning of the spring.
The Pack and joins programs such as South Florida, West Virginia, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Nebraska, South Carolina, Virginia, Purdue, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and UCF as schools that have offered. And more could be on the way as plenty of coaches have been coming by his school this spring.
"There have been so many coming by, it's hard to keep track," said McWilliams. "A lot of the schools that offered come by and schools that haven't too. Clemson came by, Pitt came by, and so did Cal, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Several could be close to offering."
With all these offers and schools showing interest, McWilliams says one school still stands out over the rest.
"I like all the schools that have offered me, but I still have South Florida as my leader," said McWilliams. "They were the first to offer and I have a real good relationship with their coaching staff. I had a great visit there and liked everything about the school, the facilities, and the environment. I talk with the coaches there all the time and Coach Shank and Coach Smith came by my school yesterday."
McWilliams said he's enjoying the recruiting process and all the offers he's been getting, but that isn't going to change his approach.
"Getting all these offers are great, and I'm happy to have them," said McWilliams. "I'm still going to work my tail off like I don't have any. I'd like to have 30 by the end of the summer."
Rico just completed spring ball with his school and is finishing his last week of classes. He plans on being busy this summer seeing schools and plans on making a return trip to Tampa.
"I'm going to visit some schools this summer and may do some camps," said McWilliams. "I may go down to South Florida on the 25th for their SuperBull camp."
