Tyler Cameron, a 3-star prospect rated the No. 39 quarterback in the nation by scout.com announced his college decision today at a press conference at Jupiter Community Park, saying that he will be a Bull."I've committed to USF and I'm excited about my decision," said Cameron. "I have a great realtionship with the coaching staff and its a good QB situation. I just felt very comfortable there."
The 6'3, 215 pound quarterback had an impressive list of offers including ones from Boston College, LSU, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Purdue, Rutgers, South Florida, and Central Florida, before narrowing his choices down to his top four of USF, LSU, Purdue, and Illinois, but ultimately chose to play for the Bulls.
Cameron announced his decision at the Jupiter Community Park in front of players from the Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association's Pop Warner program. Also making his choice was best friend, Jupiter Christian quarterback Kedric Bostic who announced that he'll play for the UCF Knights. The two chose the location because they grew up together and started playing football on those very fields.
"We grew up together and have played together and we're doing it out there because that's where we started playing football. So we figured in front of the next generation of ball players would be a good place to do it."
While going through the recruiting process Cameron knew what he was looking for in a college.
"I was looking for a good situation at quarterback and a chance to play, where I get along with the coaches, and a place where I can feel comfortable at for the next four to five years," Cameron said. "
As a junior Cameron only played in seven games because of a torn left labrum, but still finished with 820 yards passing and seven touchdowns, while rushing for 600 yards and six touchdowns.
Cameron also carries a 3.2 GPA, scored a 20 on the ACT and is set to graduate in December, so now that his decision is made he can focus on his senior season.
