USF Fall Camp 2011: Special Teams Drills

When you look back at the 2010 season, the first that Head Coach Skip Holtz took over as coach, there were plenty of positives in all areas on the field, but one area that had a dramatic improvement was the USF special teams units, where the Bulls improved in almost every category across the board. You can see how by the drills they go through in fall camp.

The Bulls improved in almost every category across the board, including FG percentage, KO returns, punt returns, and punt return defense. Maikon Bonani hit 81% of his kicks. They also had two kick-off returns for TDs by Lindsey Lamar. On defense the Kickoff return defense went from 19.7 yards per return in 2009 to 22.6 yards in 2010. There were two blocked punts by Quenton Washington, one recovered by special teams ace Armando Sanchez, and one by Chris Lane, and they improved the punt return defense from a dismal 21.0 yards per return in 2009 to 9.7 yards in 2010.

The Bulls will try to build on what they accomplished last season. You can see how by the drills they go through in fall camp
