USF to Wear Wounded Warrior Project Uniforms

in support of our nation's Armed Forces, Under Armour has developed specially designed uniforms for USF, South Carolina and Texas Tech to support our nation's military and public safety heroes. The head-to-toe uniforms are part of the UA Freedom initiative and Under Armour's partnership with Wounded Warrior Project, and will be showcased USF's contest with Miami on Nov. 19.

To show support of our nation's Armed Forces, Under Armour has announced that it will unveil specially designed uniforms in honor of the nation's Armed Forces.

South Florida, Texas Tech, and South Carolina will wear the uniforms this season. South Carolina will wear them against Auburn on Oct. 1, Texas Tech will wear theirs for their Nov. 12 game against Oklahoma State, while USF will showcase theirs when they go against Miami on Nov. 19.

The head-to-toe uniforms will incorporate a custom "USA stars and stripes" design. Each team will replace their last names on their jerseys with a core value embellishment – Duty, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Country, or Service – and will be led on field by selected wounded warrior honorary captains.

"As we continue to reflect on the 10th anniversary of September 11, we recognize the importance of honoring those that lost their lives on that day and the men and women of our Armed Forces that continue to fight for freedom," said Matt Mirchin, Under Armour Senior Vice President, Sports Marketing. "We are privileged to work with Wounded Warrior Project, South Carolina, Texas Tech, and the University of South Florida to carry on the tradition of these special games and support the Believe in Heroes campaign."

This is the third year that Under Armour has created these uniforms that are to support our nation's veterans. The initiative is also in conjunction with the Wounded Warrior Project that provides programs and services for injured service members and their families.

The custom jerseys will be auctioned-off on each of the school's websites the Monday following each game with a 100% of all proceeds benefiting Believe in HeroesTM. Under Armour school-specific fan gear will also be available at and at campus bookstores, with a portion of the proceeds going to Believe in HeroesTM as well.
