Javontae Hawkins, a 6-foot-5, 205 pound shooting guard from Huntington prep has committed to Coach Heath and the Bulls after a weekend visit.
"I think it came down to a couple things," said Huntington head coach Rob Fulford. "He loved his visit, liked the players and the coaches and they did a great job of recruiting him. He also liked their new facilities and them showing a financial commitment to building a great hoops program."
Hawkins is a 3-star prospect rated the 30th best shooting guard in the country that had over 27 offers and had a final six of Cincinnati, South Florida, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia before choosing the Bulls.
"He's a BIG East level guy, and will be an immediate impact player," said Fulford. "He's extremely athletic, a high level athlete that can score in a variety of ways. I don't consider him a shooter, but a shot maker. In open court, in transition, he's very hard to defend, and has gotten better since he's arrived here. He's an overall freakishly athletic player that can score."
