Hoops: USF looks to make it 2-0 vs Marist

Stan Heath and the Bulls basketball team looks to improve to 2-0 when they face Marist for the second game of the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Tournament at the St. Pete Times Forum tonight at 7 pm.

The USF men's basketball team returns to the court to face the Marist Red Foxes from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) this Monday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. This is the second all-time meeting between USF and Marist, with the Bulls winning the first match-up 84-59 back in 1993.

USF beat Vermont 61-59

Against Vermont: Four Bulls reached double-figures the season opening win over Vermont. Senior forward Ron Anderson Jr., led the team in both points (16) and rebounds (9) while junior Shaun Noriega chipped in 15 and sophomore Victor Rudd and senior Augustus Gilchrist each added 12. USF only had five turnovers for its lowest total since five against Notre Dame on Feb. 7, 2010. The Bulls shot 61.5 percent from 3-point range (8-of-13) -USF and improves to 31-10 in season openers overall and 3-2 in the Stan Heath era.
