After being committed to USF since May, Union Grove cornerback D.J. White has now decided to re-open his recruitment.
"Yes sir, I did decommit from USF this evening," said White. "I've been thinking about it for a little bit and have decided to not go there an open up my options."
The 6-foot-, 180 pound cornerback from McDonough Georgia said over the past two weeks he got visits from Vandy, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, as well as USF, and has been thinking about opening things up. He said there was a combination of reasons why he made my decision.
"I've been looking at it from a different perspective and felt that the program is a bit unstable with some uncertainty surrounding them, and wanted to look at other options." said White. "The staff reassured me that Coach Holtz wasn't going anywhere and it's nothing negative on USF, but I just thought I'd have better opportunities elsewhere."
Now that he is no longer committed, are the Bulls still in the mix for White?
"As of now I'm not considering USF any longer," said White. "Right now I'm looking at Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt."
White has several visits planned for the near future.
"I'm going to Georgia Tech for an official tomorrow and an unofficial to Vanderbilt for next weekend. I also plan on taking an official visit to Vandy in January," said White. "That's all I have set up right now."
